Jack Sadler - Vice President and Director of Communications
Jack Sadler has been involved with Dogwood Stable since 1976 (the year he graduated from Washington and Lee), when he worked for trainer Frank Alexander and groomed a filly named Moona's Dust - who was owned by Dogwood! In 1981 he left the race track and went to work as the assistant trainer on Dogwood's farm in Greenville, Georgia, and made the move to Aiken when the operation relocated in 1986. He moved into the office in 1990, trading his lead shank for the telephone and keyboard (and has recently embraced Twitter). Jack and Susan are the parents of young adults - J.T. and Callie.
Diane Smith - Secretary/Office Manager
Diane has been involved with Dogwood since the stable's move to Aiken in 1987. After 16 years she left for a time to take care of her family and was welcomed back in 2013. She has served many different roles in the Dogwood office over the years. While a preacher's daughter, Diane has been an almost lifetime resident of Aiken County. Before joining Dogwood, she worked in the Municipal Court for the City of North Augusta and the Department of Public Safety for many years. When not at Dogwood, Diane is nanny to two girls: Callie (13) and Jillian (16), which keeps her quite busy. Diane lives in North Augusta.
Bob Wade - Treasurer
After enjoying a brief retirement from Elliott Davis Wealth Management, where he was a member the firm’s executive committee and a managing shareholder of their CPA office, Bob Wade joined the Dogwood team in 2014. A native of Aiken, Wade enjoys golf and the beach. He and his wife Henrietta have two children - Ellen and Benton. A lifelong fan of Thoroughbreds, Wade has made several trips to both Belmont and Saratoga. He is a trustee of the Junior Invitational Golf Tournament held locally each year and is treasurer and board member of Aiken’s Mead Hall Episcopal School.
Nikki Bargeloh - Treasurer's Assistant
Nikki was born in Kansas but moved at least 10 times while growing up, thanks to her dad's career as a trainer. It seems quite natural for her to now be working in the Dogwood office, since her father is Ron Stevens, who for many years was Dogwood's trainer - first on the farm in Georgia and then in Aiken. When Dogwood relocated to Aiken in 1986, the Stevens family made the move as well, and Nikki has called Aiken home ever since. She is a graduate of USC Aiken and holds a BS degree in Accounting, which she puts to good use not only for Dogwood but as both the bookkeeper/secretary for Legacy Stable and the Aiken Training Track. She has one son named Cade.
